Maca root General Information
Maca root is a rainforest herb that grows wild in the Peruvian Andes. The rough terrain of the this region made it difficult to cultivate foods so the Andean people had to depend on wild plants, Maca root, and other herbs as staples in their daily diet. Maca root Uses & Scientific Evidence For
Today Maca root is used to increase energy and support the immune system. It is also used to treat anemia, chronic fatigue syndrome, impotence, menopausal symptoms, and menstrual problems. This herb is said to lubricate stiff arthritic joints and help ease respiratory illnesses. It has also been suggested that Maca root can aid in fertility, and help overcome frigidity. Peruvian educational and scientific institution studies suggest Maca root can significantly increase sexual endurance and increase both the number and the activity of sperm. This information, however, has not been reviewed or studied much outside Peru.
