NutriBiotic Skin Ointment with GSE, Grapefruit Seed Extract & Lysine is a natural formulation created to promote healthy skin tissue and provide protection from unwanted skin conditions. NutriBiotic Skin Ointment with GSE can be used topically for such things as scrapes, scratches and cuts. NutriBiotic Skin Ointment with GSE can also be used on the lips and in the mouth on cold sores and canker sores.

Great for fever blisters. The Grapefruit Seed Extract skin ointment does not contain a single ingredient that cannot be eaten. It can be used for certain conditions in the nose, mouth and ears. The skin ointment is pH neutral, so it won't sting. The antiseptic ingredients are all commonly used in preparations to treat a number of delicate conditions, including vaginal yeast infections and other genital infections. Apply the product to the affected area with a cotton swab to prevent contamination of the tube.

Lysine is one of the 9 essential amino acids that the body doesn’t produce on its own which also has soothing and reparative qualities that make it perfect for use in a topical ointment.

Antioxidant Vitamins have been shown to help prevent free radical damage on the skin surface when topically applied Life process, like skin healing, produces increased amounts of free radicals. Vitamin A and E are the classic skin vitamins, both with emollient and humectant qualities, which encourage cell regeneration. BHT (and its cousin, BHA) is a potent antioxidant like vitamins A, C, & E, and has been used extensively as an FDA food, beverage, and cosmetic preservative It is used here in a concentration of less than one half of 1%.

Ingredients:

• Citricidal - A 2% concentration. Antibacterial and disinfectant properties. Helps fight localized infection of the skin, including strep and staph, which causes impetigo.
• L-Lysine - Lysine is one of the nine essential amino acids, or protein building blocks, which the body does not produce itself. Lysine has been shown to have beneficial properties when used as a treatment for herpes (HSV-1). Lysine also is soothing to the skin and promotes healing.
• Vitamins A, C, and E - These antioxidant vitamins help to stimulate skin growth and fight free radical damage. Vitamin E is moisturizing and soothing, as well.
• Olive Oil - Moisturizer and skin protectant.
• Beeswax - Natural wax to give thickness to the ointment. Has emollient properties and has been used in skin preparations since the time of the Pharaohs.
• Castor Oil - Vegetable oil from the castor bean. Moisturizing and soothing to the skin.
• Gum Benzoin - The balsamic resin from wood of the Guaiacum. Used as an antioxidant in creams and lotions and as a natural preservative.
• Goldenseal Tincture - Traditional herbal medicine used to treat inflammations. Also has potent antibiotic and antiseptic properties.
• Echinacea Angustifolia - Traditional herbal medicine. A natural antibiotic and immune response booster. Increases the ability of the white blood cells to fight, digest and destroy toxic organisms that invade the body.
• Bee Propolis - A resinous substance collected from beehives. Excellent aid against bacterial infections. Also soothing to inflammation of the mucous membranes (nose, mouth, vaginal lining, etc.)
• Calendula Oficinalis - From Marigolds. Soothes inflammation of the skin and mucous membranes.
• BHT - Butylated Hydroxytoluene. Antioxidant/preservative used extensively in foods, beverage and cosmetic manufacture. Occasionally can cause allergic reaction when used in high concentration. In our skin ointment, the level of BHT is less than 0.5% (one-half of one percent).
• Vitamin E Tocopherol - Antioxidant derived from vegetable oils. Emollient and moisturizing to the skin, vitamin E helps prevent free radical damage and promotes healing.
• Honey - Used in ancient Egypt as an antibacterial. Natural humectant (draws moisture to the skin from the air) and moisturizer. Soothing and healing.
• Tea Tree Oil - Antibacterial, antiseptic, promotes healing.
• Cajeput Oil - White Tea Tree oil from Southeast Asia. Antibacterial and antiseptic properties.

Directions for Use: Apply a thin layer of ointment and massage gently into the affected area. May be used as required or directed by a physician.
