Cocoa Spice Tea
As a young child, I was continually accused of daydreaming, drifting off into my own world. I would squint at the clouds and see beautiful Arabian horses dancing across the sky, or a stately maharaja sitting cross-legged on his throne. The exotic aroma and tastes of spices like ginger and cinnamon transported me to distant and romantic lands where bright silks blew in the breeze like multicolored waves on an ocean of dreams. My very favorite drink was hot chocolate, and I remember thinking the steam rising from the cup was really a signal from a genie locked away for thousands of years waiting to grant me my wish. Even now, when when a cool breeze sends a chill through the house, I put the kettle on the stove so I can make a cup of cocoa spice tea. Reaching for my favorite down comforter, I seek the warmth and refuge of the old club chair that belonged to my grandmother. It is funny what memories we choose to hold on to from our childhood. I just love the smell and taste of this tea.
